Metal roofing, decades of Valley summers, one roof

Metal reflects the heat that slowly cooks every asphalt roof in Stanislaus County, sheds winter rain instantly, and keeps doing both for 40 years or more. It costs more upfront, and for the right home and the right owner, it's the last roof they buy.

Metal systems we install

Metal isn't one product. The right system depends on your home's style, pitch, and how long you plan to stay under it.

Value metalExposed-fastener panelsRibbed metal panels screwed to the deck. Great for shops, barns, and budget-minded homes; the fasteners need periodic checks as gaskets age.Typical Valley lifespan: 25 to 35 years
Best of bothStone-coated steelSteel panels shaped and coated to look like shingle or tile, with metal's longevity underneath. A fit for HOA neighborhoods where bare metal won't fly.Typical Valley lifespan: 40+ years
Why metal

Why homeowners go metal here

Reflects Valley heatReflective metal can shed a large share of solar heat that asphalt absorbs, and attic temperatures show it.
Outlasts everythingA properly installed standing seam roof will outlive two shingle roofs, which changes the lifetime math entirely.
Fire and wind resistantClass A fire ratings and interlocked panels that hold in the wind events that strip aging shingle.
Nearly zero maintenanceNo granules to shed, no moss to root. An occasional rinse and a fastener check on exposed systems is the whole routine.

Metal roofing questions

Is a metal roof loud when it rains?

Not on a house. Installed over solid decking and underlayment, a metal roof is about as loud as any other. The rain-on-a-barn sound comes from panels over open framing, which isn't how homes are built.

How much more does metal cost than shingle?

Meaningfully more upfront, often two to three times, depending on the system. Spread over a lifespan that can double shingle's, the per-year math gets a lot closer. We'll quote both honestly so you can compare.

Does metal make sense in our heat?

It's one of the best climates for it. Reflective metal sheds solar heat instead of soaking it up like asphalt, and it doesn't lose oils or granules to UV. Valley sun is exactly the problem metal solves.

Can metal go over my existing shingles?

Often yes, metal is light enough that code frequently allows installation over one existing shingle layer, saving tear-off cost. We confirm deck condition and code fit during the free inspection.
